Bob Dylan Amsterdam 2013

One of the most famous representatives and patrons of the 60s’ Civil Rights Movement, the singer and song writer Robert Allen Zimmerman will visit to Amsterdam on 30 October 2013.

If you haven’t recognized this name, it is not a miracle, because Allen walked into the Supreme Court in New York and changed his name to Robert Dylan. Maybe this is more familiar to everyone. The artist is already in the music life for 50 years, during this time most of his songs in the 60s became the anthems of the Civil Right Movement.

The artist’s music career was always influenced by the folk music. When he started, his voice and lyrics were rude. The fund of his success was his songs about actual happenings. In 1963 he became a member of the Civil Rights Movement and actually it made him famous. He gave a concert for example at the outdoor protest in Washington, where Martin Luther King told the famous “I have a dream” speech. Also this year his enthusiasm of these movements disappeared, he felt that the folk music resistance movement obligated his creative freedom. He was on the absolute top in the 60s, but he still has concerts around the world with his legendary songs, right now in Europe.

Good news, that because of the big interest, the organizers decided that Bob Dylan will give two concerts in Amsterdam sequentially on 30 and 31 October 2013 in the Heineken Music Hall! Have fun!
