Watch Amsterdam in films online

Are you in love with Amsterdam and would love to see a film recorded in Amsterdam? Then you have the chance right now as we will tell you about two films in which you can see some of the beauties in Amsterdam.

The first film recommended for you to watch as you want to see a film recorded in Amsterdam is Turkisk Delight, a film from 1973. In this film you can see recordings from locations in Amsterdam such as Dam and Damrak ,
Oudezijds Voorburgwal and the MacBike Centraal Station.

Another film recommended is Amsterdamned from 1988, also a Dutch production in which you can follow the murderer who hides in the canals of Amsterdam only to climb out and catch his victims in the darkness. Here you can see shots from the Rijksmuseum, the City Hall at the Waterlooplein and more.

If you want a more Hollywood production then the right film for you is Oceans Twelve from 2004 where the group of stars made up by George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon pull of a major theft. Time to visit Keukenhof 2015

If it is spring then it is time to visit Keukenhof which is one of the most beautiful parks in Holland. Keukenhof has over 7 millions flower bulbs and 800 varieties of tulips just about to bloom. Beside the beautiful flowers visitors can enjoy particular and breathtaking flower shows, art works and several other events as well.

2015 is the year of Van Gogh so on this special and unique occasion visitors can check the spectacular flower bulb mosaic of a self portrait of Van Gogh which is made out of thousands of tulips. Apart from all the interesting flower shows the Keukenhof is an excellent program for children and families as well. Keukenhof gives home to several children’s activities such as the treasure hunt, the petting farm, the maze and the playground.

The admission price for adults cost € 16, for children under 3 is for free, ticket for children from 4 to 11 year cost € 8.
In 2015 Keukenhof is open from 20th March to 17th May every day from 8 in the morning until 7.30 in the evening.

Madonna concert in Amsterdam 2015

Madonna AmsterdamThe Queen of Pop will be on a world tour again from the end of August. Good news for the fans that during the tour Madonna will give 2 concerts in Amsterdam. Madonna is an American singer, song writer, actress and businesswoman who is one of the most famous and influential artist.

Madonna is best known for pushing the boundaries of the lyrical content and using imaginary in her music and in her music videos. With this she quickly achieved international success and she soon became one of the most popular singers of all time.

The Queen of Pop just released her latest album the Rebel Hearts in the beginning of March 2015. The Rebel Hearts is the 13th studio album of the American singer and on this special occasion Madonna will be on a world tour from the 29th August in 2015. The Rebel Heart Tour is the tenth worldwide concert tour of Madonna which supports her latest album. During the tour Madonna will give 46 shows (26 in North America, 20 in Europe). In Amsterdam Madonna will be on stage two nights, both of the concerts will take place at the Ziggo Dome. The first concert will be held on the 5th December and the second one will be on the 6th December in 2015. Tickets for the concerts are already available and can be bought from WorldTicketShop.

Kiss concert in Amsterdam 2015

Kiss AmsterdamThe world wide known rock band Kiss is on a world tour since June in 2014 and on this occasion the band will give a concert in Amsterdam as well. Kiss is an American hard rock band which was formed in 1973.

Through the years the line up of the band went through some major changes so its current members are Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. Kiss is most recognisable for their strong and striking make up and face paint, the stage outfits, live performances, blood spitting and smoking guitars. The American rock band soon became one of the most successful rock bands after releasing the band’s first album Kiss in 1974. Kiss came out with the latest album, Monster in 2012 and since the summer of 2014 the band is on a world tour with The Kiss 40th Anniversary World Tour. During the tour, which started on 23rd June in 2014, the band will give all together 91 shows world wide including Amsterdam as well.

In Amsterdam the Kiss concert will take place on the 18th June in 2015 after the concert in Paris on the 16th June. The concert in Amsterdam will be held at Ziggo Dome.

King’s Day 2015

Kings DayThe King’s Day in Amsterdam is one of the most popular events in the life of the city and in Holland as well. The annual King’s Day also known as Koningsdag is held every year on the 27th April.

Each year on this special day the whole country and especially Amsterdam celebrates the king’s birthday and on this occasion multiple various programs, events and other fun activities are waiting for everyone on the streets, parks and canals of Amsterdam. On this day the city hosts several programs from street markets and children’s activities to different parties. As the King’s Day is a public holiday lots of parties will take place on the streets of Amsterdam and on the various public squares in the city DJs will take care of the good mood. Each house in the city, the streets and the canals will be all decorated to honour this day.

The King’s Day in Amsterdam takes place on 27th April in 2015. The entrance to the festival is free for every visitors.

Exhibition on Ed Atkins

Ed AtkinsA major exhibition will be on display of Ed Atkins at the Stedelijk Museum in the Netherlands from the end of February to the end of May in 2015.

This will be the first exhibition only devoted to Ed Atkins in the Netherlands. Ed Atkins who was born in 1982 in Oxford, England is considered one of the most outstanding and influential artists of his generation. Atkins who grew up with online technology it became the artists second nature. At the exhibition visitors will have the chance to discover this new and unique form of art through the pictures shown of the artists and the exhibition also shows a wide range of various videos. This unique exhibition approaches this new and unknown form of art from a brand new perspective. The exhibition on one of the greatest artists of the contemporary art will be shown at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. The exhibition will be held from 21sth February to 31st May in 2015. Tickets for adults for the exhibition costs € 15, for students it is for € 7.50 and for children up to 18 is for free.

Taylor Swift concert in Amsterdam 2015

Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift will give an unforgettable concert in Amsterdam next year in the middle of June during her world tour. Taylor Swift is an American singer and songwriter who received international success after releasing her second album Fearless in 2008 which also became the most selling album in 2009.

Taylor Swift came out with her third album Speak Now in 2010 and her fourth one, Red which was released two years later in 2012. The hit songs of the fourth album are We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble. Taylor Swift’s latest album 1989 is a pop focused record which came out last year in 2014. On this occasion Taylor Swift will be on a world tour from May 2015 until December 2015 and she will perform in the larger European cities including Glasgow, London, Manchester and Amsterdam as well. The 1989 World Tour will be the American singer’s upcoming fourth world tour which supports her latest album 1989. In Amsterdam the concert will take place on Sunday 21st June 2015 at the Ziggo Dome. National Restaurant Week 2015The National Restaurant Week returns to Amsterdam this year again. This special event is always held twice in a year, first time in the beginning of spring in March and then in the autumn sometime in September.

Roxette concert in Amsterdam 2015

Roxette AmsterdamDuring the world tour of the Swedish duo, Roxette will be on stage in Amsterdam too. Roxette is Swedish duo which was formed in the late 1980s and consists Marie Frderiksson and Per Gessle. The Swedish band had their first bigger breakthrough in the music industry in the late 1980s when they released their album the Look Sharp!.

Their next album the Joyride which was released in 1991 was almost as successful as their previous album. The most famous and number one hit songs of the band are The Look, Listen to Your Heart, It Must Have Been Love, Joyride, Dangerous, Fading Like a Flower, Dressed for Success, The Centre of the Heart. Roxette is on a world tour from the end of last year and they will continue touring until July in 2015. During their world tour the band will perform in several cities in Europe including Budapest, Vienna, London, Dublin, Paris, Prague, Warsaw, Berlin, Hamburg and so on. In this occasion the Swedish duo will give a concert in the capital city of Holland, in Amsterdam as well. In Amsterdam the concert will be held on Wednesday 27th May 2015. Exhibition on the late works of Rembrandt

Late RembrandtThis year the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam will show an exhibition on the late works of Rembrandt from the middle of February to the middle of May.

For twenty years a complete Rembrandt exhibition will be shown again to the visitors giving a chance for everyone to get to know the greatest artist of the Dutch Golden Age. This will be the first exhibition dedicated only the late works of Rembrandt. Rembrandt was a Dutch painter who was born in 1606 and he died in 1669. Rembrandt is one of the most outstanding and most influential painters of all time and this will be the first time a whole exhibition will be dedicated only to his late art works. More than 100 various paintings, drawings and prints that were brought to Amsterdam from different museums and private collectors from all over the world will be shown at the exhibition. At this major exhibition visitors will have the chance to discover the most beautiful master pieces of Rembrandt. The exhibition on the late works of Rembrandt will take place at Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam from 12th February to 17th May in 2015.
